  • Baltimore Fire

Between February 7 and 9, 1904, more than a hundred city blocks of downtown Baltimore were destroyed by the worst fire in the city's history. By the following year, an anonymous version of this song was in print. Poole (1892-1931) and Harvey (1892-1958) are long gone, Lonnie Austin (b. 1904) still lives in Eden, North Carolina, but has been unable to play since his stroke last year. This one’s for you, Lonnie,
