Odell] Smith (1909-67) was the youngest and last of the fiddlers with the North Carolina Ramblers. Like Lonnie, Austin before him, he had several years of formal violin lessons as well as an apprenticeship with the older traditional fiddlers in the Spray, north Carolina area. This technically difficult piece is still popular in the Virginia - Carolina Piedmont.
