    The "Henpecked Husbands" band name was bestowed by lifelong bachelor Woodie (1900-78) on his older, married compatriots, Woodie, Reed (1900-65), and Nuckolls (1895-1975), all from the Laurel Springs section of Allegheny County, North Carolina, were an active band in their community for many years, though they made only one record,
