Prisoner's Lament

  • Prisoner's Lament

The Sweet Brothers, from Damascus VA, would probably never have recorded had they not met Ernest Stoneman at a fiddlers’ convention in Elizabethton TN. Stoneman, who was trying to organize a new band at the time, took them and his cousin Willie Stoneman to the Gennett studio for a recording session in the summer of 1928.

Herbert Sweet, vocal, guitar: Earl Sweet, fiddle.
