This tune is from Sherman Gore (1885-1981), a blacksmith and fiddler who lived on the West Fork of Hart's Creek near Chapmanville in Logan County, WV. I came across his recordings in a set of tapes that belonged to Dr. Patrick Gainer, and now in the West Virginia & Regional History Center of WVU. - Jimmy Triplett
