Charles Pendleton Monroe (1903-75) performed and recorded with his younger brother Bili (1911-96) umtil their famously acrimonious breakup in 1938. Charlie went on to organize his own bands, and continued performing and recording until the 1950s, when he went into off-and-on retirement until his death.
