Take Me Back To The Sweet Sunny South

  • Take Me Back To The Sweet Sunny South

Fiddler-singer Ben Jarrell (1880-1946), of Low Gap, North Carolina, recorded what has to be the best version of this song, printed copies of which date back to the 1840's. The line he fluffs in the last verse is "O'er the graves of my loved ones I long there to weep".

Ben Jarrell, vocal; Frank Jenkins, DaCosta Woltz, banjos.
