The Striplings, of Kennedy, Alabama, were noted for their musical talent. It was their habit, at family musical gatherings, to hand the various instruments around the circle, so that each member played each tune on a new one. Charlie (1896-1966) was the family fiddler, though, and a perennial contest winner in Alabama into the 1950s,
