    Norman Woodlieff left the Navy in 1920, having become disabled by tuberculosis. He began playing guitar with Charlie Poole, but by 1926 his health wasn't up go the fast life of a North Carolina Rambler. But he recorded occasionally, this time with Odell Smith (1908-59), and was an excellent sign painter and cartoonist, who drew a fine graphic narrative of life with Charlie Poole,
