    Roane County, Tennessee, in the hills just west of Knoxville,was the home of this seldom-recorded band, The tune, a variant of what G.B. Grayson called "Going Down The Lee Highway", is supposed to have been one of the "Indian pieces" McCarroll learned from his mother’s Cherokee relatives.
