Elder Golden Pierce Harris (1897-1964) of Indian Valley, Floyd County, Virginia, was an excellent fiddler who did not give up music when he became a Primitive Baptist. In fact he adapted several of their hymns (this one a setting of words by Isaac Watts) to his own style, an effort more successful artistically than commercially.
