    Millworker-musician Dorsey Dixon (1897-1968) of Darlington, South Carolina, was one of his generation's most creative songwriters. In addition to this reworking of a traditional theme, he wrote "Weave Room Blues", "Wreck On The Highway", and "Down With The Old Canoe", the Titanic ballad that provided the title for a recent book on the subject. His brother Howard (b.1903) was one of the earliest country steel guitarists, having learned from Jimmie Tarlton around 1930,
