Jockey Thro The Fair

  • Jockey Thro The Fair

There were so many excellent Irish-American musicians in the major recording centers of New York and Chicago that the Boston boys seldom got into a studio. The Hanafin family, whose patriarch Michael (1880-1970) is heard here, were an exception however, recording frequently up into the 1960's, The classic Irish long dance has extra measures that make it difficult to follow, but it is actually quite regular in its own peculiar way.

Michael C, Hanafin, fiddle; Dan Sullivan, piano.
