Lady Gay

  • Lady Gay

Rev. Buell Kazee (1900-76), of Magoffin County, Kentucky, went through endless disputes with the Brunswick people over his insistence on singing in his "correct", or formally trained voice, rather than through his nose, as they seemed to desire. But his correct voice serves him well in this version of "The Wife Of Ushers well" -- Child Ballad No. 79.

    Buell Kazee; vocal, banjo.
