Love Somebody

  • Love Somebody

Sidney Harkreader was born in 1898 in the Cedar Glades region of middle Tennessee, between Murfreesboro and Lebanon. About 1920, he walked the 20-odd miles to Nashville to seek his fortune, and by 1923 he was touring the vaudeville circuit with Macon as "Uncle Dave and his Nephew Fiddling Sid". The show was mostly Uncle Dave of course, but Sid did get the occasional chance to show off his fiddling. He continued to perform on radio until about 1940, when he retired from the music business until his death in 1988.

Sid Harkreader, fiddle; Uncle Dave Macon, banjo.
