Born in the 1890's, probably in County Kerry, Ireland, Quinn was in New York by 1921, making records and holding a day job as a city policeman, He was said to have been planning a trip to Ireland for a music competition when he died in 1936, The song, usually called "The Star Of The County Down", had already been a big hit, in a somewhat more classical style, for tenor John McCormack a few years earlier.

Frank Quinn, vocal, fiddle; prob. Ed Geoghegan, piano.
