    Dr. Bate (1875-1936) was a physician from Castalian Springs, Tennessee, northeast of Nashville, In addition to his medical practice, he was an excellent musician and an enthusiastic organizer of string bands, He only provides the dance calls on this tune, but his virtuoso harmonica playing may appear on later tapes, He was the first country musician to perform on a Nashville radio station (1925), and was a regular on the Grand Ole Opry from later that year until his death,
