George Carter (1869-1948) of Aberdeen, Mississippi, and his son Jimmie, recorded at the same session as Tom Dickson, and were probably also Rockwell discoveries. According to Jimmie, they brought Uncle Andrew along to Memphis mainly to sing, but his voice proved to #e too weak for the recording equipment. So they asked George, who certainly didn't have that problem, to "sing and just holler and hoot and do anything you want to", which he did, to spectacular effect.

The Carter Brothers and Son: George Carter, fiddle, vocal; Andrew Carter, fiddle; Jimmie Carter, guitar.
