Sunny Tennessee

  • Sunny Tennessee

Two pairs of brothers from near Bent Mountain, the Ramblers played frequently on WDBJ in Roanoke. Their song about a local murder earned them enough recognition to rate a recording session, even as the Depression was choking off the last of the country music business, This song, one of the others from that single date, is especially notable for the beautiful high harmony harmonica part.

The Floyd County Ramblers, Walter Boone, harmonica, vocal; John Willie Boone, guitar, tenor vocal; Banks McNeil, fiddle; Sam McNeil, banjo.
