Molly Put the Kettle On

  • Molly Put The Kettle On

In which Gid and the boys break up Christmas with a hot dance tune. By the time of this, their last session, the band had added McMichen's brother-in-law Bert Layne as a third fiddler and demoted Gid to plénking chords on banjo. And as always happens with string bands, they played their best music ever, and them broke-_pup. And, having broken up Christmas ourselves, the best of the season and a happy New Yeart to all, and to all a good night.

Gid Tanner and his Skillet Lickers: Lowe Stokes, Clayton McMichen Bert Layne, fiddles; Riley Puckett, vocal, guitar; Gid Tanner, banjo.
