Fisher's Hornpipe

The printed version, in old tune books such as Musician's Omnibus, is written in the key of F and is more awkward to play. I recall two particular commercial recordings of "Fisher's Hornpipe" from earlier years. One was by Clayton McMitchem, who played it in four different keys in sequence. The other was by Georgia Slim, who played it in F but revised the second part of the tune and added a third part of his own. The accompaniment for "Fisher's Hornpipe" is demanding, if done properly. E. F. Adam published a fine piano accompaniment in his original book. Reprints of Adam's book by both subsequent copyright owners omit the piano accompaniment to all of Adam's tunes.
